What we do
At Camborne Dental Practice it is our intention that you have a beautiful smile and that you keep your teeth and gums in as good a condition as you possibly can. We help you to do just that.
It may be that you have a particular problem that needs treatment, it may be that you don't like your dentures, it may be that you would like to have some cosmetic work done but feel embarrassed to ask, please ask us. You talk, we listen.
If you require further details on any of our treatments, please call us on 01209 611832.
Underpinning all dental treatments is the aim for great dental health. Our regular dental examinations are a dental health check.
We discuss your general state of health and any medication that you may be taking and any factors that could affect your dental health such as smoking or alcohol.
We listen to any concerns that you may have about your mouth.
We examine your teeth and your gums and take a reading of the levels of gum disease at the time.
We can show you your teeth using our intra oral cameras so that you can see what we can see.
We may need to take X-Rays to assess not only your teeth but also the bone that supports them or underlying structures.
We check your jaw joint and also look for any signs of oral cancer, which is becoming more prevalent.
At the end of the appointment, we will feedback to you how healthy your mouth is and what needs to be done, if anything, in order to improve the situation.
1815 was an important year for two reasons, one being the Battle of Waterloo, and the other that a New Orleans' dental developed dental floss!
Floss has a number of great uses, but its main one is to remove the plaque or biofilm as it is now known, from in between your teeth as it causes gum disease and tooth decay.
The problem is that good hygiene is really hard to achieve, and many people just can't effectively accomplish it, which is why dental disease is one of the most prevalent health conditions.
Gum disease is also linked to heart disease, low birthweight babies and a number of other problems. It really is important to look after your gums.
Our team of hygienists are great motivators, educators, and clinicians. They will help you keep your teeth and gums as healthy as possible and help treat gum disease.

We are committed to providing great dental family care with an emphasis on health at Camborne Dental Practice.
To minimize disruption to schooling, we see our child patients in school holidays for their routine dental examinations, with themed education programmes and displays to help educate about dental care.
Whether adult or child, any necessary treatment is fully discussed, with all options and relevant costs so that you are able to decide on the treatment most suitable for you.
Our treatment is comprehensive, from preventative sealants over tooth surfaces to help prevent decay, to complex root fillings, crowns, and bridges.
Sometimes tooth loss is inevitable: we can provide excellent natural looking comfortable dentures to restore your smile and restore your confidence.
Today, how we look is more a matter of choice than purely our genetic makeup, and it is no different when considering your smile.
We all want healthy teeth and gums, fresh breath and the confidence and comfort to choose whatever we would like to eat, however, we also want to smile freely and with self-assurance.
Here at Camborne Dental Practice, we believe that it is best to preserve as a much tooth as possible, and with the modern composit materials it is possible to do just that. Freehand bonding can transform a smile with minimal damage to your teeth, by gently applying and sculpting this material it can mask unsightly chips or disguise the difference in angulations or the shape of your teeth.
It can be so simple to improve the appearance of your teeth. It may be that whitening your teeth gives you the smile that you want or replacing old, discoloured fillings make the world of difference to your appearance and confidence. More complex treatment such as veneers or all ceramic crowns and bridges can give you that natural, even, terrific smile.
The smile you deserve is only a call away.
This is a brilliant way of improving the brightness and lightening the colour of your teeth, improving your confidence, and making you feel wonderful.
In as little as 2 days you can begin to see the effect, and as no tooth is removed it is kind to your mouth, simple to do and affordable.

At Camborne Dental Practice we have our very own implant specialist who will place your implants right here at the practice. Adam, who has a specialised interest in Dental Implants can do this for you.
What are implants?
Implants are one way of replacing missing teeth. A post is planted in the jaw bone to support a replacement tooth. This acts like the root of a natural tooth. Implants can also be used to support fixed bridges or dentures.
Implant treatment normally has two stages. First, the implant is placed in the jaw. Then, when the jaw has healed, replacement teeth are attached to the implant. In some situations, it is possible for temporary teeth to be attached to an implant at the time of fittings.
Would implants be right for me?
First, you should decide whether implants could be right for you. Contact us to arrange an implant consultation and discussion and we will let you know the possibilities. Our team will be only too happy to help you with any questions you may have.
